The county has multiple branch locations, and some of them process marriage license applications. Not every branch offers this service, though. Walk-ins are accepted at the main office. No appointment is needed. Both people must show up together. The clerk will not process the application if only one person is there. Arrive well before the office closes so there is enough time to complete the paperwork. The process is usually handled the same day.
Marriage License Requirements in Kendall
Both applicants must appear in person at the clerk's office. Bring a valid photo ID such as a driver's license, state ID, passport, or military ID. You need your Social Security number, though the physical card is not required. Under Florida Statute 741.04, both people must be at least 18. A 17-year-old can apply with parental consent if the other person is within two years of age.

Kendall Marriage License Fee

Both people need to complete the course and present proof of completion when they apply. The $25 savings is a nice perk, and the course also waives the three-day waiting period.
Additional fees apply for other services. A courthouse ceremony costs $30. Certified copies of the marriage license cost a few dollars each. A duplicate license is $30 if the original is lost before the ceremony. Part of the $86 fee goes to the Domestic Violence Trust Fund and the State Courts Revenue Trust Fund. The clerk accepts cash and credit cards at most locations.
Kendall Marriage License Wait and Expiration
Florida residents have a three-day waiting period. The license is not valid right away. After the clerk issues it, three full calendar days must pass before you can hold the ceremony. Non-Florida residents skip the wait entirely. If you take the premarital course, the wait is waived for residents too.
Once the marriage license becomes valid, it is good for 60 days. Florida Statute 741.041 sets this deadline. You must hold the ceremony within that window. After 60 days, the license expires and cannot be renewed. You would need to apply again and pay the full fee. Following the ceremony, the officiant sends the signed license to the Miami-Dade Clerk within 10 days. The clerk then files it with the Florida Department of Health.
Ceremony and Officiant Rules
Florida Statute 741.07 spells out who can legally perform a wedding ceremony in the state. Judges, clerks of court, ordained ministers, and notary public officials are all authorized. Kendall couples can pick any location they want for the ceremony. Parks, private homes, event halls, and churches all work.
The Miami-Dade Clerk also offers a $30 courthouse ceremony for couples who want something simple and fast.
